What is Google My Business?

Google My Business is a tool that enables you to organize free business profile listings in Google Maps so that people can discover your business when committing a local search. GMB is reasonable and effective marketing equipment for small and established businesses as it is entirely free of cost.

The description of a business profile should be clear, to clarify what Google My Business is and how it operates,

The Business Profile is a term used for a business listing on Google. During a local-oriented inquiry, business profiles occur in Google Maps and the local results of Google Search.

At some point in your life, you have presumably searched for phrases such as, ‘gyms near me, in such a case you’ll find that the Google search engine returns a table of three locations where you can exercise based on your current region. The three businesses which popped up as a result of your inquiry have a GMB page and are just one call away to close you as a customer. Imagine this in the context of your business, whatever product or service you are selling, if your business gets the top ranking most of the local market will be your customers.

Assembling a Business Profile is similar to adding a place to Google Maps, which is not a tough task to execute. The business name, location, and category are all Google needs to begin with the listing. The Business Profile will be listed for the location after Google verifies it is not a  replica of already listed businesses.

Once the Business Profile is listed on Google my business, customers can leave reviews, add photos, ask questions, and even answer the questions.

Your business profile can occur on its own, indifferent from a Google My Business account, on other local business directories, but the information or the reviews it displays is not manageable, no matter if you are the admin or not. But in the Google My Business platform after listing your business, you can effortlessly access, customize, manage, and enhance the information and reviews collected on your Business Profile such that you can edit and manage the opening/closing times, contact details, or a link to your website. Google My Business, also helps you to appear on Google.com, Google Earth, and Google Maps when there is an inquiry for your business name or related category.

With a Google My Business Account, you earn more than listing your business as your free Business Profile allows you to easily engage with customers across Google Search and Maps, and recently Google has also introduced a modern feature that allows listed businesses to post a link to articles or up-and-coming events.

According to Google’s stats, 46 out of 100 searches are local intent-based, so the local market is not ignorant. GMB is the best tool to achieve the top rank on the local search engine result page and should be considered essential by all businesses although it is a free tool. Online businesses, not having a physical shop should still consider Google my business page.
